Dr. Suzanne Marcil Dr. Suzanne Marcil is a dynamic, dedicated veterinarian, who has been practicing in the Chateauguay Valley for the past 30 years. Her current facility, in Howick, Quebec, opened on May 15, 2004. Dr. Suzanne is well respected for her surgical skills and keen diagnostic abilities. That’s why, when faced with perplexing pet problems, her clientele (from Quebec, Ontario, and the US) is willing to travel long distances in order to consult with her. She enjoys a reputation as a breeder’s vet. She understands the challenges that breeders face, and takes pleasure in helping them to achieve the high standards that they strive for in their animals. She is sought after by breeders and the general public alike because she truly loves animals. She is the proud owner of five dogs, 11 cats, and a ferret, and this love is reflected in her demeanour with the pets at the clinic. Each member of Dr. Marcil’s staff shares her love of animals, and enjoys working as part of the team. Dr. Marcil inherited her love of animals from her parents, Jackie Castagner-Marcil and the late Johnny Marcil, of the “Shangri-La,” a non-kill shelter in St-Antoine-Abbé, Quebec. Her mentor, Dr. Bernard Pillet, with whom she began working at age 15, further encouraged this love. She remained under his tutelage until her graduation from veterinary school, and still consults with him, today.
