Tom was the driving force behind the design and construction of Howick’s Clinique Vétérinaire Dr Suzanne Marcil; he played a key role in helping his wife, Suzanne, realize her dream of running her own clinic. After a year of lending a hand, Tom decided to leave his job as a financial advisor for a major firm to join his wife as full-time office manager at the clinic. Having been raised on a farm, Tom’s experience with animals definitely aided his transition. His academic qualifications, combined with his friendly disposition, make him the perfect candidate for overseeing the clinic’s day-to-day operations. Thanks to his many skills, he also spends much of his time assisting with animal care.
Philippe has been working with Dr. Marcil since 1989. Apart from answering the phone, his reception duties include computer work, filing, pulling files, returning phone calls, booking appointments, and admitting and releasing patients. Working at the front desk, he is first to greet clients as they enter. Philippe always has a smile for you and a treat for your pet.
Registered Animal Health Technician and Certified Animal Laser Therapist
Dana was welcomed into our team in January of 2009. Dana is a Certified Veterinary Technician (Vanier College, 2005), and she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Biology from McGill University. Dana’s love for animals is evident in her ability to empathize with them and calm them in stressful situations. As a technician, Dana draws blood, provides assistance during surgery and examinations, and performs various laboratory tasks. She is always eager to help and she never shies away from a challenge.
Registered Animal Health Technician
Jennifer joined our team in 2009 and is a Certified Animal Health Technician (Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe). Jennifer owns dogs and cats of her own, and the love and care with which she handles our clients’ pets shows her true nature as an animal lover. You will see Jennifer operating our lab machines, taking x-rays, assisting in surgery, dispensing medication prescribed by doctors, and performing many other tasks. She is a great asset to our team and is always there to lend a friendly and helping hand.
Amanda is the friendly voice on the other end of the phone and the ray of sunshine that greets you when you walk into the clinic. A true animal lover, she will make both you and your animal feel like VIP clients during your visit.
Lily-Catherine has worked for Dr. Marcil for a number of years, starting when she was a teenager. Her job at the clinic entails doing a little bit of everything and anything and she is most often seen running between the back and the reception talking up a storm with everyone she meets.
Noah is the clinic’s resident jack of all trades. Though his job primarily involves working with the animals and helping with inventory, do not be surprised if you see him wielding a paint brush, a snow shovel, or a Weed Whacker.
Receptionist and Animal Laser Therapist
Nancy rejoined our team in 2014 as a receptionist and small animal laser therapist. Nancy was a former employee of Dr Marcil for many years until she left to run her own business as a riding instructor and stable owner.
