Dr. Suzanne Marcil

Dr. Suzanne Marcil

Dr. Suzanne Marcil is a dynamic, dedicated veterinarian. She has been practicing in the Chateauguay Valley for the past 38 years. Her current facility, Clinique Vétérinaire Dr. Suzanne Marcil, opened on May 15, 2004 in Howick, Quebec.

Dr. Marcil is well respected for her surgical skills and keen diagnostic abilities. For this reason, her clients are willing to travel long distances (from Quebec, Ontario, and the United States) in order to consult with her. Dr. Marcil enjoys a reputation as a breeder's vet. She understands the challenges that breeders face, and takes pleasure in helping them achieve the high standards they have for their animals. Because she truly loves animals, she is sought after by breeders and the general public alike.

She is the proud owner of 4 dogs and 12 cats, and this love is reflected in her demeanour with the pets she treats at her clinic. Each member of Dr. Marcil's staff shares her love of animals and enjoys working as part of the team.

Dr. Marcil inherited her love of animals from her parents, Jackie Castagner-Marcil and the late Johnny Marcil, founders of the “Shangri-La,” a non-kill shelter in St-Antoine-Abbé, Quebec. Her mentor, Dr. Bernard Pillet, with whom she began working at age 15, further encouraged this love. She remained under his tutelage until her graduation from veterinary school, and still consults with him today.

Dr. Amélie Fortin

Dr. Amélie Fortin

Dr. Amélie Fortin is a 2007 graduate of the University of Montreal, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. A Sainte-Julie native, she has always shown unconditional love for animals of all kinds: small, medium, and large. She joined our team in 2009. Your pet's well-being is a priority for this young vet. She provides quality care and is attentive to your needs.

When she's not at the clinic, Dr. Fortin is usually with her horses at the family stable. You may even catch a glimpse of her on horseback while taking a country drive on a beautiful sunny day.
